FANGORIA 2009

So I would like to announce that Lady Z and her friend Paula are all kinds of super cool and amazing. <3

Also Fangoria was so much fun! They had a really good dealer’s room with lots of shit I wanted to buy but couldn’t afford because my need to eat expensive convention food was stronger. Oh capitalism, you are defeated only by the black hole that is my appetite. Best roast beef sandwich of my life. Yum yum yum.

Granted if you’re reading this I’m pretty sure you could care less about that and only care about the Repo panel. And I promise to deliver. See what I did there? Oh I’m so clever. *rolls eyes*

Repo panel was MC’d by none other than Spooky Dan. DLB, Terrance, Bill Mosely and Ogre were there. Also Joe Bishara popped up towards the middle of it. Major points were that littleglassvial.com should be up soon and that DLB snorts coke off of TZ’s junk.

It was one of those “you had to be there” moments I think.

Spooky Dan also showed off his documentary about the Repo tours, lots of wonderful footage of the LA shadowcast and others, also some fan art was thrown in. I hope it goes on the site or youtube or something soon. Such awesome should not be hidden away.

Hm…oh! Dearest Paula asked Ogre “If you could wear anyone’s face, whose would it be?” The banter went as follows:

O: Hm…can I wear yours?

P: Um...no?

O: I want yours then. *makes a random gesture*

P: Wait seriously?

O: Yeah come on up!

So Paula runs up, Ogre steals Bill’s knife and pretends to cut off her face. Terrance plays along and makes the appropriate grimaces and exclamations of horror. Paula then gets a big hug from Ogre and a kiss on the cheek.

A totally awesome Skinny Puppy fan in line with us for their autographs later touched Paula’s face in awe. Good times :3

One observation, I think Bill Mosely is secretly a ninja. He whipped out a knife from god knows where and also appeared on stage during the panel afterwards in a BLINK OF AN EYE. Not kidding. I turn away and turn back and he’s sitting there. Seriously, Luigi Largo is a fucking ninja.

He also charges $20 for an autograph. *sad* Sometimes I wish I was just anorexic, it’d make convention going so much more fulfilling.

So then we all wait in line ( Lady Z, Paula and Lady Z’s pal Tim who runs the Sacramento Horror Festival)

I shake TZ’s hand, introduce myself and he signs my DVD. Also says my name is pretty. Kinda sorta made my day. I mean, it's one thing to hear it from from someone you don't see on TV. Quite another to hear it from someone as awesome as Mr. Zdunich.

So, I shake his hand and all I could think was “HOLY CRAP. He has big hands! D:” He does too. I think it’s partly that he does have huge hands and mostly because mine are incredibly tiny. Baaah I’m such a midget! I should live on the yellow brick road or something and skip in Technicolor. Anyhoo, I sign his mailing list and move onto get DLB, Bishara’s and Ogre’s autograph.

I briefly talked to Rock Love while I was there and now realize I probably should’ve gotten her autograph too. Dammit. :\

Then we all wander back to the parking lot and I get dropped off home. I’m sure Lady Z will blog about her TZ meetings because hers were far epic than mine.

Side note: On the way to the convention we listened to Repo. On the way home, we listened to RHPS. Ahhh full circle music choices. <3

And before I forget, a list of injokes that occurred that will likely confuse everyone else but Paula and Lady Z. I need to document them for the lulz.

- Double headed purple dildo that vibrates and is attached to Lady Z’s pelvis

- Terrance’s balls being able to heal all ills. The three of us in a car together, baking in SoCal sun for long periods of time is reaaaally unhealthy. Sorry TZ, you were the basis for many a stupid joke today.

Day 20- NaNo 2008

I have officially finished the first draft of my fantasy/horror novel, Little Red.

Phew, that was a pretty set of words, but it's still a little over novella status. I plan to set it aside for a week or so, start working on outlining my LGBT novel and get back to Little Red to edit and start the 2nd draft. I really am hopeful on getting this nanowrimo novel published :)

26 chapters
115 pages.

Day 19 NaNo 2008

I'm currently at 57K and am reaching the final chapters in my novel. It's at 23 chapters and about...105 pages. Gah, I'm so excited! These past few chapters have really opened up Red's character and have proven to me that she really is fucking psycho.

She even worries Wolf a little.

Also a few of the minor characters, one in particular, has begun to play a big part that I hadn't even considered back on the 1st of November. I'm really excited!

And I am addicted to the song Decode by Paramore. It's really good and some parts can be applied to Little Red, even if it IS supposed to be for Twilight.

Still debating if I want to see the movie, probably in the middle of next week. All the crazy fan girls will have seen and salivated by then :) *brrr* fangirls.

Maybe the movie will be better than the book? ...Maybe? >.> Or not. I just wanna stare at the actor who plays James. I'd eat off his abs, omnomnomnom!

I made it to 50,000 words! In just a little over two weeks! Man, I'm all proud of myself now.

Now its' a race to finish the novel before the 30th. I'm' getting there, the final slippery slope of Red and Wolf is beginning. Here's hoping it goes well. Or not, it's not supposed to be a happy ending after all.

Off to celebrate the achievement of one goal and the road to another...

I have only 5,000 more words until I win NaNowrimo. I'm so excited! This will be my third win! Granted the story itself won't be finished so from that point it'll be a race to finish the novel before midnight of Nov. 30th. We'll see how that goes :D

I went to another write in last Saturday in a cafe a few cities over. There was about...9 people there when I left. And I got really good green milk tea there <3 I need to start going there more frequently. It was delicious!

I plan to go to the other write in this weekend, even if I am done with the wordcount. It's fun! Give me a chance to finish my novel or maybe even start a new one whilst my creative juices are flowing :)

So! Um, I hit 40K. HELL TO THE YES! It's 73 pages and 17 chapters. I'm about to embark on the eventual humanoid Wolf x Red sex scene. That'll be a pretty set of words. Hee hee. We're nearing the home stretch of both my word count and my story. How exciting!

So now, I only have 10,000 more words to go. Woo, and it's only week two! I'm debating on if I feel like trying to hit the end of my novel journey by Monday. We shall have to see how the inspiration is :)

Well I went to a write in today at my local cafe. There were two others women there, it was pretty fun ^-^ I didn't get all that much writing done, I was too busy chatting with them!

I'm currently at 16 chapters and 32K. I'm hoping to reach 35K soon. Strange though, Wolf seems to be developing more emotions. I really have no idea why.

I won't call it love for Red, that's not what it is. But it may be the closest he is capable of giving her. Hm...I shall have to ponder him a bit methinks.

Hullo! Well, I'm currently at 25,562 words and about 13 chapters. Red is really being vocal I guess you could say about her personality and her epic craziness. Seriously, bitch is off her rocker.

And Wolf is more and more indifferent and apathetic. He doesn't care about anything, except Red. A little, like a minuscule amount. Maybe.

I'm hoping to reach 30 or 35K before Saturday. And I'm planning to go to a local write-in in my hometown. That's on Thursday, I hope it goes well!

Also, I needed some good music to inspire me and my friend sent me a song called S.O.S. (Anything But Love) by Cristina Scabbia & Apocalyptica. Cristina Scabbia is the lead singer of one of my favorite bands, Lacuna Coil.

Much to my amazement, the lyrics to this song, except one, can all be applied to my novel. I have dubbed it, the theme song to my NaNo novel.

I'm so happy! Thanks Kaat, you're the best friend ever :D

Well I'm starting to edge into the full plot of my story. Very slowly and with lots of unnecessary descriptions. I'm really worried about finishing the story but not reaching my word count, so I'm doing all I can to pad it :)

Day One- NaNo '08

So um, yeah, I TOTALLY changed my plot two days before NaNo started. I just wasn't feeling my first plot no matter how much I liked the banner/book cover that I made for it.

Yet, as soon as I started telling my uncle about one of my favorite short movies I suddenly was hit with the inspiration brick. The movie stars a very young Christina Ricci as Little Red Riding Hood, a dancer is the wolf and it's entirely filmed in black and white with only narration, no dialogue.

I wrote a short story in junior year of high school twisting the tale a bit and I just HAD to expand it. Character profiles and an outline fell out of my mind onto my computer screen Halloween morning and afternoon.

I've since reached 4K words and I plan (and am forcing myself) to reach 16K words TODAY. Since I'm going to be gone the first week of NaNo and don't have a laptop, I want to get it out of the way so I don't have to hand write it all.

Title: Little Red

Genre: Fantasy/Horror

Synopsis: Little Red was a good little girl, Little Red served her grandmother and was repaid by having her grandmother be served to her as dinner. When the axeman who saved her is blamed for crimes he didn't commit, Little Red's innocence falls away.

Her naivete is replaced with insanity as she enters a twisted contract with the very creature that changed her life.

For better or for worse.

Strange, I had forgotten that I used this LJ to document my NaNo experiences my very first year.
I also did it last year but didn't blog it at all. But I did win, in case you wondered.

So! I guess this is my chance to talk a bit about my story.

Title: Genetic Bonds

Genre: Sci-fi/Fantasy

Synopsis: Deelia and Jyace are two genetically altered experiments, Deelia is mute and blind. Jyace is her only form of communication, through touch, and the two embark on a quest to uncover who they once were and who they may be forced to be come.

I've actually had this idea roaming about my imagination since last year's NaNo but was too busy archiving my friend and I's 4 year old roleplay instead. I have an outline and the characters are vivid in my brain. I have a pretty good chance at winning again this year.

One draw back is that during the first week of NaNo, I will be on a family vacation. I don't have a laptop so I will be forced to handwrite (the horror!) my NaNo. I may be able to gain enough time on the open computers at the timeshare to write each day's work and email to myself. We'll have to see.

The Rapture Concert! (Not a Christian band) & Day 10 of NaNo!

Hullo! Last night I was @ The Glasshouse and saw The Rapture in concert! They put on a great show! And I actually could see in that venue! GASP! Their tour shirts were ugly or they ran out of my size so I just bought a button instead. Uncle Jerry and I had dinner at a really cool restaurant with the best garlic mashed potatoes on the face of the earth, I'm freaking serious.

Today, my family and I flee to god knows where to celebrate our friend's 10th anniversary at a big party. With food! YES! Free food! *dance* And we have to wear some article of purple because I turned the wife onto Gogol Bordello months ago and now she loves them and their song "Start Wearing Purple", hence the purple at the party.

Oh and it's day 10 of NaNo and I'm less than 1K away from hitting 35K! I need to have 40K by Sunday, or Monday at latest. And I NEED to have the 50K threshold done by next saturday. Because the Nintendo Wii coming out next Sunday and when I get it and the new Zelda game, I will ditch the internet and writing my NaNo until I beat it. Hence the finishing of my NaNo beforehand.

Day 7/ First week of NaNo Over!!

Yup, today marks the first week of NaNo! Woot! I was delayed internet wise when my connection went down for two days but we're up and running again!

I'm currently at chapter 11 of my NaNo and at a word count of 22,534. I'm well on my way of reaching 25K by thursday! *dance*

On a more serious note, please keep my friend Kell in your prayers or thoughts. She went in for a mammogram today to get her checked out. Her family has a history of breast cancer and she has a 50/50 chance of it being just cysts or actually beginnings of the disease. Let's hope it's not the later.

Hullo! Well today is Guy Fawkes day everyone! This day many many centuries ago, a man named Guy Fawke's tried to blow up Parliament! So to commemorate that I shall post part of the rhyme for it.

On the NaNo front I didn't hit 10 or 5K but my word count is 17,215. And I have writer's block so I'm off to the forums to pout at my adopter and maybe ask some folks at YWS to help me out. However in my time stuck at writing, I made two banners to put on my NaNo siggy.

One has dolls from a dollmaker and the other uses the Sims 2. I'm gonna use the Sims 2 one ;)

My goal is to reach 25K before the 10th. Here's hoping!

I finished chapter 7 and I went above and beyond my goal for this weekend. I'm at 15K! 15,015 to be exact. I'm hoping to shove in another 5K, possibly 10K so I can make the halfway mark. Let's hope it all works out!

Oh and I plan to doll my four main characters either by hand or reliable doll maker and post them on here by tomorrow or so.

Yup its day one of the epic month quest of NaNoWriMo. I got chapter one done at 2,081 words. So I met my daily quote of 1,700 and over that for tomorrow! Yes!

I'll probably end up writing more this evening when I get back from my stint at 24hr fitness. Gotta work off that soda and Halloween candy! Don't want to gain a 50K novel and 50 lbs too yknow. Well, hope everyone else is coping well.

I joined the epic quest of writing a NaNowrimo last night. I spent all morning doing an outline and character stuff so I won't be completely adrift. Hell I even got one of the major tasks done. Creating a completely fake religion. O_O I deserve a cookie. Someone give me one! Just kidding.

To be completely honest, the only reason I'm even creating this livejournal is so I can enter into lots of the livejournal communities that I have bookmarked. That's pretty much all this is for. I hardly even update my xanga anymore so there's no real gumption for me to keep this as a "regular" blog. Just thought I'd lay that out there. I may update when I feel like it.
